JOHN SCOTT COURT
Project: John Scott Court, Harveyfields, Waltham Abbey, Essex

Client: Epping Forest District Council
Budget: £1,652,000
Timeframe: 52 Weeks
Brief:
To demolish a disused row of council garages and build a new apartment complex comprising of nine flats for affordable rent – part of the council’s five-year plan for new house building.
Outcome:
As Epping Council’s first new build housing scheme for 30 years, the property was opened with much fanfare. In a ceremony presided over by the deputy speaker of the House of Commons and the Chairman of the Council, the project was hailed as a great success.

Reflecting the measures we took to minimise disruption around the site, despite taking place in a residential area, the works didn’t give rise to any complaints.
How we did it:
Based on a design and build contract with Epping Forest and Employers Agents Pelling’s LLP, we constructed high-quality, energy-efficient homes for council residents on their housing List.

We resolved various site issues during the construction period, including remediation issues, utilities and drainage levels and very detailed balcony and security elements.
